riku shinagawa（品川 陸）は、大阪を拠点とする日本のアーティスト・デザイナー。
制作はジュエリーと家具の領域を横断し、構造、素材、制度の関係を扱う。装飾を付加するのではなく、形態や表面、使用や時間の中に意味が生じる条件そのものを探求している。
主に金属を用いた作品は、ジュエリーや家具といった既存のカテゴリーを前提としながら、その定義が確定しきらない状態をつくり出す。一部は制度的な形態を不安定化させ、一部は静かに機能する道具として存在する。
作品の目的はイメージを完成させることではない。物体に対する判断が完了せず、鑑賞者の認識が往復し続ける状態を生み出すことにある。使用、時間、圧力、接触といった現象もまた作品の構成要素として扱われる。
Riku Shinagawa is a Japanese artist and designer based in Osaka.
His practice moves between jewelry and furniture, examining the relationships between structure, material, and systems. Rather than adding decoration, he investigates the conditions through which meaning emerges from form, surface, use, and time.
Working primarily with metal, his works engage established categories such as “jewelry” and “furniture” while placing them in states where their definitions remain unresolved. Some destabilize institutional forms, while others exist quietly as functional objects.
The aim of his work is not to complete an image, but to sustain a condition in which judgment remains open and perception continues to shift. Phenomena such as use, time, pressure, and contact are treated as integral components of the work itself.
